Society 805 is looking for a Journalist Intern for our Music category in the Arts & Culture section.
The Arts & Culture/Music Journalist Intern will write reviews on the local music scene within the 805 and occasionally beyond. This intern will also interview musicians from various backgrounds as well. The intern will develop a relationship with local publicists, this is a very fun but serious internship and there is only 1 opening for this position.
Responsibilites
-Write quality articles (minimum 1 per week/750+ words plus images)
-Conduct Interviews
-Discuss article concepts with editor on a weekly basis.
-Create an event calendar and update it on a regular basis
You need to be smart, creative, self-motivated, professional and serious about your craft. You should be familiar with Microsoft Word’s tracking changes function. This is a 3 to 6 months internship commitment.
Requirements
-Access to a computer/internet
-Journalist/Media / Music major or minor (not necessary but preferred)
This is a non-paid internship, however the perks of this internship is you get to attend concerts and shows for free. Mileage is paid on a case-by-case situation.
