NEW BEGINNINGS: STARTING MY SECOND YEAR AUTHORING “THE NEW FACE OF AGING”

When the world says, "Give up,"Hope whispers, "Try it one more time."

This month marks the beginning of my second year authoring “The New Face of Aging”. To commemorate this occasion; I want to share some basic information with you on the value of caring for your skin from the inside out.

Your skin is the largest body organ.  It is your buffer against the ravages of the elements.  It has a big job!    To make the skin's job even more difficult, it can be hindered from within without proper nutrition and toxic overload can deteriorate it even further.

Our environment and the food we eat have changed drastically over time: everything is much more toxic now. Our bodies cannot process all these toxins. Because of this, nearly everyone has toxic buildup in their bodies.

Your body is naturally equipped with a self-cleaning process utilizing your liver and kidneys. But continued assault from our toxic environment can slow the body's natural detoxification functions so much that your body can no longer clean itself properly.

Think of your body as a bathtub: just like water fills up a tub via a faucet, toxins fill up your body via the air you breathe, what you touch, put on your skin and what you eat and drink. In a bathtub, if the water comes in faster than it drains, the water level rises to the top. In your body, when toxins come in faster than your body can process and eliminate them, your body pulls these toxins away from your vital organs and holds them in fat cells, and will release those fat stores only when you clear out the toxins.

In the bathtub, when we lessen or turn off the flow of water coming in through the faucet, the water level naturally falls. So to in your body, when you decrease the toxins coming in, your overall toxic overload falls. You must “clean the drain” so that toxins can be more efficiently eliminated.

How do you know if you need a detoxification?
You may be suffering from toxic overload if you are experiencing fatigue, difficulty concentrating, allergies and infections, anxiety and depression, weight management issues, muscle and joint pain, skin rashes and outbreaks, recurrent yeast and fungal infections, constipation, diarrhea, and poor digestion.

If you would like to take a quick quiz to gauge your personal toxic body load please contact me and I will email it to you or check out next months article when the quiz will be included. It’s a simple tool that can enlighten you as to various hidden toxins.

How to do a detoxification cleanse

There are a variety of approaches that you can take to cleanse your body, but with all the blogs and websites available about detox cleansing it can be confusing. There are many programs out there that require purchasing supplemental products. This is not necessary, but many find it easier to follow a set program. If you go this route it is important to do your research to find a supplement that is safe to use with the highest quality natural ingredients.

By focusing on eliminating toxins from our diets and eating whole foods, we can help our bodies detoxify.   A relatively simple way to identify food allergies and/or sensitivities is to eliminate common allergenic food types from your diet completely for a month, and then re- introduce them to your diet one at a time. By doing this and monitoring your body’s reactions, you can identify the culprit. These food groups include Gluten, Dairy, Eggs, Sugar, Caffeine and fermented products.

Following are some basic common sense tools to help you with your personal “New Beginning”:

  • Take part in exercise that makes you sweat. Sweat is nature’s great toxin release.
  • Breathe deeply and exhale fully.
  • Drink plenty of pure water. It transports nutrients and helps rid the body of toxins.
  • Eating plenty of fresh organic produce
  • Avoid highly allergenic foods
  • Eat whole, real foods, not processed foods. Shop the outer edge of the supermarket.
  • Avoid smoking and inappropriate drug use.
  • Get plenty of sleep every night.
  • Be mindful of stress triggers and employ techniques to reduce stress and relax.
  • Have Lymphatic massage. Natures true cleaning system
  • If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation.

Many people report vast improvement in their symptoms after a cleanse. At first, you may feel a little fuzzy because of the toxins being released. However, if you stick with it, you will begin to feel more alert and energized.

Detoxing your systems is a great new beginning for your new face of aging.

Cheers! Till next time
